Anita Diamant, born in 1951 in New Jersey, spent most of her adolescence in Colorado and attended the University of Colorado – Boulder before
transferring to Washington University in St. Louis. She followed her bachelor’s degree there with a master’s from Birmingham University in New York, finishing her college studies in 1975.
Diamant put her English degree to use as a freelance journalist until venturing into novels in 1985 with the publication of The Jewish Wedding. She continues to write both fiction and non-fiction about Judaism and Jewish practice.
Diamant lives in Massachusetts with her family.
