Veronica Roth at the 2014 premiere of the movie adaptation of Divergent
Veronica Roth was born in 1988 in NYC and moved shortly after to a Chicago suburb, where she was raised. She attended Northwestern University where she studies creative writing. She published her first book, Divergent, in 2011 at the tender age of 23. She has since gone on to complete that trilogy with the 2012 release of Insurgent and the 2013 release of Allegiant. Divergent was adapted for the screen and released in 2014, with Insurgent and a two part Allegiant to follow.
Roth likes to think she would be in Dauntless but reluctantly admits that she would probably choose Abnegation. She and her husband live in the Chicago area.
