H.P. (Howard Phillips) Lovecraft is the world renown horror novelist and creator of the C’Thulu mythos. An American author living from 1937-1980, Lovecraft has over 100 stories, numerous novels and novellas, game spin-offs based on his created universe of Elder Beings, and even monstrous plushies. With a near-cult like following, Lovecraft’s dark worlds are a blend between horror and science fiction, even dipping into fantasy, to create a very Hitchcock like world where what is not seen, what is merely hinted at, is enough to drive character’s insane and keep audiences in paroxysms of terror. Incorporating his favorite subjects – science, chemistry, astronomy, and history, his tales weave together to create a cohesive universe that has since created the term “Lovecraftian.” Despite his current popularity, Lovecraft was not a successful novelist or author during his lifetime.
