A man who wears many hats, Wade Davis (b.1953) is an award winning author of numerous books, a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence , a public speaker, an ethnobotanist and a licensed river guide in his native British Columbia. He first rose to prominence with publication of The Serpent and the Rainbow, a controversial exploration of Haitian “zombification”. His other literary efforts have taken him all over the globe, including Tibet, Nunavut, Tahiti, Peru and beyond. He’s known as a passionate advocate for biological and cultural diversity worldwide.
