Formerly a bureau chief at Time magazine and an executive editor at Texas Monthly, S.C. Gwynne has gone on to write award winning and bestselling history. His 2011 chronicle of Quanah Parker and the Comanche, Empire of the Summer Moon, was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. His subsequent 2014 biography of Stonewall Jackson, entitled Rebel Yell, is equally compelling. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and daughter.
