An associate professor of surgery at UCSF, American author Leonard Shlain (1937-2009) was the best-selling author of four books, including Sex, Time and Power and Leonardo’s Brain, finishing the latter work shortly before dying of brain cancer at the age of 71. He was a man of vast interests who focused much of his research on the origins of human creativity. For many years, he was in high demand as a public speaker all over the world, delivering visual presentations based upon his books.
