Oklahoma native Sarah Vowell (b. 1969) is an author and essayist, as well as a frequent contributor to Public Radio International’s This American Life.  She’s is the best-selling author of six non-fiction books, including Assassination Vacation and her most recent work, Unfamiliar Fishes.   She has also has served as a Senior Historical Context Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and is the voice of teenage superhero Violet Parr in Pixar’s The Incredibles.  She lives in New York City where she serves as president of the board for 826NYC a non-profit tutoring and writing center for school-age kids in Brooklyn.
