As I watched the movers haul my surprisingly-long-lasting particle-board IKEA bookshelves up the stairs and into my new place, it dawned on me: IT IS TIME FOR REAL BOOKSHELVES, GIRL. For Valentine’s Day, A Blind Date with a Book

The Seattle Public Library is doing a cute Valentine’s Day event this year: a “blind date with a book.” Read the titillating descriptions, check out your brown-bagged mystery date, and take it home. Support Your Local Library

Well, it's official — I'm a volunteer! I've been a member of the Friends of the Seattle Public Library for some time, and have volunteered at their regular book sales for the past couple of years, but I just recently decided to make the jump into volunteering on their Communications Committee.
